  We provide targeted medication management for individuals aged 3 and up, ensuring safe, effective, and personalized treatment to support long-term mental health. For treatment-resistant conditions, we offer genetic testing to guide precise and optimized care. 

Pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing examines specific genes that influence how your body metabolizes and responds to psychiatric medications. Genetic differences can affect how quickly medications are processed, how much medication may be available in the body, and how an individual may experience effectiveness or side effects.

When clinically indicated, PGx testing provides valuable additional information to help guide medication selection and dosing. This can be especially helpful for individuals who have experienced medication side effects, limited benefit from previous medications, or difficulty finding a treatment that is both effective and well tolerated.

PGx testing does not predict with certainty which medication will work or replace clinical decision-making. Instead, results are considered together with your symptoms, medical history, previous medication experiences, current medications, and treatment goals. By incorporating genetic information into the overall assessment, PGx testing can support a more personalized, informed approach to psychiatric medication management and may help reduce some of the trial-and-error involved in finding the right treatment.

At Obsidian Medical Associates, we partner with a qualified ADOS-2 (Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition) tester to provide comprehensive evaluations for Autism Spectrum Disorder. Our collaborative approach combines standardized assessment with a thorough clinical evaluation to help ensure a thoughtful and accurate diagnostic process.

Evaluations may include developmental history, clinical interviews, behavioral observations, standardized assessments, and ADOS-2 testing. Our goal is to provide families and individuals with a clear understanding of their strengths, challenges, and potential support needs.
